STIRLING AND DISTRICT
SOCIETY OF ORGANISTS
What a wonderful opening to the season George gave us on on 8 October 2011 in Paisley Abbey! You simply must not miss Frikki Walker’s recital in Hamilton Old Parish Church on 26 November.
In the meantime, have a look at Blow your own Trumpet and read about another splendid piece of local music-making. Perhaps this little item will inspire you to to tell us about some of the music YOU have been making recently!
An association for all who love the organ and its music.
Many of our members play regularly, but some play rarely or not at all. If you enjoy the organ and its music, you will find that we have a interesting range of events and you will be assured of a warm welcome at our meetings.
If you are a minister, you might find our list of deputy organists a great help, but do, please, check with them beforehand that they are available at the time you need them, at an agreed fee, and can reach your church.
Membership of your local society qualifies you for a discount on one of the finest quarterly organ magazines in Europe, the Organists Review.
You will find a links page that connects you with Scottish Federation of Organists and Incorporated Association of Organists web sites. Here you can find guidance on recommended fees and sample contracts, along with access to the Scottish Federation of Organists magazine, the SFO News, details of second hand organs for sale, and many other organ-related matters.
Join us and enjoy the music and mystique of the King of Instruments.
